%X The vegetal surface on watersheds is usually used as an indicator of the environmental quality. The propagation of the use of digital processing tools of orbital images made the uses of geotechnology become a very important topic, when related to environment evaluation researches. The Land Change Modeler is a module connected to the IDRISI software developed by Clark Labs, which supplies tools to evaluate and to project changes of soils surface. This work had as its aim to identify and to quantify the processes of variation in the uses and occupation of the soil by means of temporal analysis, in the years of 1984 and 2014. The studied area is Ribeirão da Pratas watershed located in the County of Lençóis Paulista, SP. For managing the analysis, orbital images from the satellites Landsat 5 and Landsat 8, orbit 221 and point 076, were used. It was possible to observe that in the years of 1984 and 2014 the main use of the soil was for sugarcane, which covers 65,29% and 68,81%, respectively, featuring sugarcane crop as the agricultural practice most predominant in the County of Lençóis Paulista. The native vegetation had a significant increase in this evaluation, of approximately 350,09 ha, demonstrating a serious concern with the maintenance and restoration of this vegetation and conservation of the waterbodies, The module Land Change Modeler made possible the algebra of the maps and to obtain much information demonstrating its potential for such analysis.
